Creative Consultation with Siblings of Disabled Children

Arts for Health Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, with the support of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust, the Parents Forum and the Dreadnought Centre, held two sets of creative consultation sessions for the brothers and sisters of disabled children on Saturdays during April and May 2008. These followed on from some taster sessions which were held at a family fun day in Bodmin earlier in the year and were a great success!  There were two types of activity available at each session:

For 7 – 12 year olds:

An adventure involving magic and fantasy.   Journey with us, using games, drama, roleplay, art and magicians's secrets.

Come and have fun!

For 11 years and over:

Welcome to the Creation Lab! Don your white coat and start inventing. A cross between an apothecary and a mad scientist’s laboratory where potions bubble, machines whirr and creative sparks fly!

The activities were designed for the children and young people to let us know what their needs are and what would help them in their day to day lives, so that organisations responsible for services for children, young people and families can improve the support available to the siblings of disabled children.

There may be some further sessions available in the near future, to register your interest in your child attending, please contact us.
