Arts Response – Lead artists for arts and mental health project

Four lead artists are required, each to work within one location in Cornwall, to develop and deliver a 12-month programme of arts and health work as outlined in the Arts Response project being delivered by Arts for Health Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (AFHC).
Fee: £2,500 plus a commissioning budget of £2,500 which can be used to support sessions by the lead artist or by other commissioned practitioners.

Arts Response will provide meaningful creative activity opportunities on a weekly basis in community settings targeted at adults with mental health problems. These evidence-based activities are designed to help people re-establish or maintain social support systems, develop their confidence, self-esteem and communication skills and assist them in being ready to engage, or re-engage, with learning, work and leisure activities. These group sessions will be led by experienced creative facilitators, supported by trained volunteers and will embrace a wide range of creative media.

Artist Advisory Panel

We are looking for up to 8 artists to form an Advisory Artist Panel to provide an artist’s perspective on the relationship between AFHC and creative practitioners. We anticipate this panel meeting 2- 3 times in the next 12 months but perhaps also providing input via email in between times and discussing issues such as: contracts, fees and expenses, evaluation, artist recruitment, expectations of artists and what artists can expect from AFHC.

We want to have a panel that includes artists who have a lot of experience of working with us as well as artists who are relatively new to the organisation. We will pay a fee of £125 for the year plus travel expenses.
If you would like to be considered for this please email Gill@artsforhealthcornwall.org.uk with your details and a short paragraph on why you are interested in joining the panel by Friday 30th July.
We hope to set up the first meeting in September. For more information contact Gill or Jayne on 01326 377772.
