Arts for Health Cornwall was engaged by Community 1st Cornwall (C1C) to develop the first phase of an Arts and Health Strategy for the Truro Health Park development. We ran a series of workshops with members of the community to come up with design ideas and inspiration for the Project. The first phase of this project was overseen by Lead Artist Rob Olins and Landscape Architect Mike Westley.
Design ideas for the Courtyard area of the Health Park were developed with the help of members of the local community, these were then show-cased in the Hall for Cornwall in July 2006. Community members also helped to establish concepts for how the Arts might be incorporated into the building itself in the form of lighting, flooring designs and Art installations.
The second phase of our involvement with Truro Health Park has now begun, and we are delighted to announce that 4 public artists have been selected to develop designs for the Health Park's courtyards, flooring and entrance installations. These are; Steve Geliot (courtyards), Will Levi Marshall (flooring), Gloria Ronchi and Claudio Benghi (entrance installations). There will be futher opportunities for community engagement in the design process later in 2008, details of which will follow shortly.
